Description

Boursin Chicken is a creamy and savory dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a luscious Boursin garlic and herb cheese sauce. This recipe combines simple ingredients with a rich sauce made from chicken broth, heavy cream, and Boursin cheese, baked to perfection in the oven for a comforting and flavorful meal perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin garlic and herb cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken after searing.
  2. Season Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor.
  3. Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until they develop a golden brown crust. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. Make Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream, and Boursin garlic and herb cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese fully melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the creamy sauce over the top to coat them evenly.
  6. Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), ensuring it is fully cooked and juicy.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and sprinkle the chicken with freshly chopped parsley before serving to add a fresh burst of color and flavor.

Notes

  • Use an oven-safe skillet to easily transfer from stovetop to oven.
  • Do not overcook the chicken to keep it juicy.
  • Boursin cheese can be substituted with other creamy garlic herb cheeses if unavailable.
  • Check the internal temperature of chicken with a meat thermometer to ensure safety.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
