Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Dough and Cooking
- 1 batch pizza dough (enough to roll out to approximately 12×8 inches)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking chicken and sealing rolls)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing tops)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (optional, for butter brushing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the cooked chicken breast generously with Cajun seasoning. Pan-sear the chicken in olive oil over medium heat to lock in flavor and develop a slight char. Once cooked and blackened, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Mix Filling Ingredients: Chop or shred the blackened chicken finely. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with Alfredo sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese until the mixture is well coated and cheesy.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 12 by 8 inches and approximately 1/4 inch thick. This allows for even baking and easier rolling.
- Assemble the Pizza Rolls: Spread the Cajun chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the edges to seal the rolls and then slice them into 1 to 2 inch wide rolls.
- Bake to Perfection: Place the sliced rolls on a greased baking sheet with the cut-side facing up. Brush the tops lightly with the melted butter mixed with minced garlic (optional). Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 18 to 22 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on top. Remove from oven and serve warm.
Notes
- Make sure the chicken is properly seasoned and cooked with Cajun spices to develop the signature blackened flavor.
- The Alfredo sauce adds richness; you can use store-bought or homemade for best flavor.
- For a crispier crust, brush the edges of the dough with olive oil before rolling and sealing.
- Use a sharp knife or dental floss to slice the rolls cleanly without squishing the filling.
- These pizza rolls can be served as an appetizer, snack, or light meal paired with a side salad.
