Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sliced pickled jalapeño peppers, drained
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Butter a loaf pan thoroughly, then line it with parchment paper, making sure the paper extends over the sides to allow easy removal of the bread after baking.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle measuring approximately 10 by 20 inches.
- Add Toppings: Brush the entire surface of the rolled dough with the melted butter. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated cheddar cheeses across the dough, then distribute the sliced pickled jalapeños on top for a spicy kick.
- Cut and Stack the Dough: Using a sharp knife, cut the dough lengthwise into three long strips. Next, cut each strip into six equal squares. Carefully stack groups of four to six squares on top of each other, trying to preserve as much cheese inside the layers as possible.
- Place in the Pan: Arrange each stack vertically inside the prepared loaf pan, placing the stacks snugly side by side.
- Bake: Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until the bread is puffed, golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Allow the bread to cool slightly in the pan before removing. Serve warm, optionally with warm marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping to enhance the flavors.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding garlic powder or smoked paprika to the melted butter before brushing on the dough.
- You can substitute the pickled jalapeños with fresh jalapeños if you prefer a fresher, hotter bite.
- This bread is best served warm and fresh out of the oven.
- To reheat leftovers, cover with foil and warm in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes.
