Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Dish. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy serving.
  2. Cook Noodles. Boil egg noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain well to remove excess water.
  3. Sauté Aromatics. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion for 4–5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Combine Ingredients. In a large bowl, mix the cooked noodles, sautéed onion and garlic, shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and dried parsley. Stir thoroughly until everything is well combined.
  5. Assemble Casserole. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and optional crushed crackers or breadcrumbs evenly over the top for a crispy finish.
