Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Baking Dish. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy serving.
- Cook Noodles. Boil egg noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain well to remove excess water.
- Sauté Aromatics. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion for 4–5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Combine Ingredients. In a large bowl, mix the cooked noodles, sautéed onion and garlic, shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and dried parsley. Stir thoroughly until everything is well combined.
- Assemble Casserole. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and optional crushed crackers or breadcrumbs evenly over the top for a crispy finish.
- Bake. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the casserole is hot throughout and bubbly with a golden crust on top.
