Description

Indulge in these Decadent Raspberry Swirl Brownies, combining rich chocolate with a tangy raspberry swirl for a perfect balance of flavors. This easy-to-make dessert features a moist chocolate base enhanced by a vibrant raspberry mixture, baked to fudgy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder

Raspberry Swirl

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking the brownies.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate. In a heatproof bowl, gently melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together until smooth, stirring occasionally to combine thoroughly.
  3. Combine eggs and sugar. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and slightly pale.
  4. Mix batter ingredients. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir to combine. Then gently fold in the all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the brownies tender.
  5. Prepare raspberry swirl. Mash the fresh or frozen raspberries with sugar and water to create a sweet, tangy swirl mixture.
  6. Assemble the batter and swirl. Grease a baking pan, then spread half of the brownie batter evenly in the pan. Spoon dollops of the raspberry mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the raspberry through the brownie batter for a marbled effect.
  7. Bake the brownies. Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool and serve. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely before slicing into 4 servings. Enjoy as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.

Notes

  • Use fresh raspberries for a brighter flavor, but frozen raspberries work well too. Thaw before mashing.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding flour to maintain a fudgy texture.
  • For a more intense chocolate taste, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • Ensure the brownies cool completely before slicing to achieve clean edges.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
