Description

Enjoy a delightful twist on breakfast with these Easy Gluten-Free Cruffins. Made from flaky gluten-free puff pastry rolled with cinnamon sugar and baked to golden perfection, these cruffins are a perfect sweet treat for any morning. Quick to prepare and customizable with additional fillings like chocolate chips or jam, they offer a delicious gluten-free alternative to traditional pastries.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry

  • 1 sheet gluten-free puff pastry (thawed)

Filling and Topping

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • Gluten-free flour for dusting
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Muffin Tin: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent sticking.
  2. Roll Out Pastry: On a lightly floured surface with gluten-free flour, roll out the thawed gluten-free puff pastry into a 10×12 inch rectangle.
  3. Brush with Butter and Add Filling: Evenly brush the surface of the pastry with melted butter. Sprinkle the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the buttered dough.
  4. Roll and Slice: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough up into a log. Then slice the log lengthwise in half to expose the layers.
  5. Twist and Shape: Twist each half into a spiral, then roll each spiral up like a cinnamon roll.
  6. Place in Muffin Cups: Place each spiral into the prepared muffin tin cups, cut side up, shaping each to fit well.
  7. Bake: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cruffins are puffed up and golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the cruffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling with chocolate chips, jam, or nut butter for added flavor.
  • Ensure your puff pastry is certified gluten-free to maintain gluten-free status.
