- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Prepare Apples: Toss the sliced apples with lemon juice. Set aside.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
- Layer Batter and Apples: Spread half of the batter in the pan, then layer half of the apple slices. Repeat with remaining batter and apples.
- Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
- Dust and Serve: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
