Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Mixture
- 700 grams milk chocolate, divided
- 250 grams Nutella
- 150 grams unsalted butter
Dry Ingredients
- 150 grams digestive biscuits, broken into bite-sized pieces
- 100 grams hazelnut wafers, broken into bite-sized pieces (optional)
- 100 grams chopped roasted hazelnuts (optional)
Topping
- 300 grams Ferrero Rocher (approximately 1 box)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×9 inch baking tin with parchment paper or foil to ensure easy removal of the tiffin once set.
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: Chop the Ferrero Rocher chocolates in half, reserving 16 halves for decoration. Break the digestive biscuits and hazelnut wafers into bite-sized pieces and combine them with the chopped hazelnuts in a large mixing bowl.
- Melt Butter and Nutella: In a saucepan over low to medium heat, gently melt the unsalted butter together with the Nutella until smooth and well combined. Stir in 400 grams of the chopped milk chocolate and allow it to sit for a few minutes to melt before stirring again until glossy and uniform.
- Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the bowl containing the biscuits, wafers, and hazelnuts. Stir thoroughly to combine everything, ensuring there are no dry pockets. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking tin. Place the tin in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare Topping: Melt the remaining 300 grams of milk chocolate until smooth. Pour this melted chocolate over the chilled tiffin base and smooth the surface using a spatula. Arrange the reserved Ferrero Rocher halves in a neat 4×4 grid pattern on top and scatter any remaining chopped hazelnuts over the surface for added texture and decoration.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the tiffin for approximately 2 hours or until completely firm. Once set, cut into 16 squares and serve chilled. Enjoy this rich, crunchy, and chocolatey treat!
Notes
- Ensure to melt chocolate gently over low heat to avoid burning or seizing.
- The hazelnut wafers and chopped hazelnuts are optional but add great texture and flavor.
- For an extra smooth topping, temper the chocolate before pouring over the tiffin base.
- Store the tiffin in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- You can substitute digestive biscuits with graham crackers if desired.
