Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1 ½ pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Mashed Potatoes
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt, to taste
Green Beans
- 12 ounces green beans, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Black pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Potatoes: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the peeled and cubed potatoes and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain well.
- Mash Potatoes: Return drained potatoes to the pot or a bowl. Add whole milk, butter, and salt to taste. Mash until smooth and creamy. Set aside and keep warm.
- Season Steak: Season the sirloin steak cubes generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Sear Steak Bites: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak cubes in a single layer and sear for about 2 minutes per side until browned but not cooked through. Remove steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, add 4 tablespoons unsalted butter and minced garlic. Stir continuously for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Toss Steak in Garlic Butter: Return steak bites to the skillet and toss well to coat with the garlic butter sauce. Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the steak bites.
- Sauté Green Beans: In a separate skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add trimmed green beans and season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for 6-8 minutes until green beans are tender-crisp.
- Serve: Plate the garlic butter steak bites with a generous scoop of mashed potatoes and a side of sautéed green beans. Enjoy warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of beef broth or Worcestershire sauce to the garlic butter sauce while tossing the steak.
- Use Yukon Gold potatoes instead of russet for creamier mashed potatoes.
- Blanch green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes before sautéing if you prefer them more tender.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when searing steak bites to ensure proper browning.
