Description

Honey Garlic Salmon Bites are tender, bite-sized pieces of salmon glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect as a quick and delicious main dish, these salmon bites are pan-fried to golden perfection and garnished with green onions and sesame seeds, offering an easy Asian-inspired meal ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Marinade

  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred, gluten-free if needed)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade and Marinate Salmon: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, ground black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Place the salmon cubes in a shallow dish or a zip-top bag, pour half of the marinade over them, and toss gently to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  2. Cook the Salmon Bites: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated salmon pieces to the skillet, discarding any used marinade in the dish or bag. Cook the salmon bites for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
  3. Glaze the Salmon: Pour the remaining unused marinade into the skillet with the salmon. Simmer for another 1 to 2 minutes, spooning the sauce over the fish as it thickens and forms a glossy glaze over the bites.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle the salmon bites with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and texture. Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For crispier edges, lightly dredge the salmon pieces in cornstarch before pan-frying.
  • This recipe can also be cooked in an air fryer at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes for a different texture.
  • Use gluten-free soy sauce to make the dish gluten-free.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the heat level.
