Description

  • ¾ cup warm milk (110°F)

  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 egg

For the filling:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

For the frosting:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk


Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit until foamy. Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes.
  2. Rise the dough: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare the filling: Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder. Roll out the dough, spread butter, sprinkle the cinnamon mixture and chocolate chips. Roll up and slice into rolls.
  4. Bake: Place rolls in a baking dish, let rise, then bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes.
  5. Make the frosting: Mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.

Notes

  • You can refrigerate unbaked rolls overnight and bake the next day.
