Description

Delight in these Peach Pie Cruffins, a perfect blend of flaky puff pastry and sweet peach filling twisted into a charming muffin shape. Ideal for breakfast or dessert, these cruffins combine the buttery crispness of pie crust with the convenience of a handheld treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1/2 cup canned or fresh peaches, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • Additional cinnamon sugar for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare muffin tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the peach filling: In a small bowl, combine the finely chopped peaches, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, all-purpose flour, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
  3. Roll out puff pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a 10×12-inch rectangle to create an even base for the filling.
  4. Assemble the filling on pastry: Brush the rolled-out pastry with melted butter, then evenly spread the peach filling over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges for sealing.
  5. Roll and cut the dough: Starting from the longer side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log lengthwise in half to expose the layers.
  6. Twist and shape the cruffins: Take each half, twist it into a spiral, then coil each into a muffin shape. Place each shaped cruffin into the prepared muffin tin.
  7. Bake the cruffins: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and puffed up beautifully.
  8. Cool and finish: Allow the cruffins to cool slightly in the pan before removing. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar while still warm for extra sweetness and crunch.

Notes

  • You can use frozen peaches if fresh are unavailable; just thaw and drain thoroughly before using.
  • Serve warm cruffins with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of glaze to turn them into an indulgent dessert.
