Description

A flavorful Mediterranean-Fusion dish featuring cheese or spinach ravioli tossed in a creamy, spicy harissa sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Ravioli

  • 1 package (9–12 oz) cheese or spinach ravioli (fresh or frozen)

Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons harissa paste (adjust to spice preference)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ravioli: Cook the ravioli according to the package directions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and set aside to prepare the sauce.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Add Harissa Paste: Stir in the harissa paste and cook for another 30 seconds to release the flavors and heat.
  4. Prepare the Creamy Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and lemon juice, cooking until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Season: Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  6. Toss Ravioli in Sauce: Add the cooked ravioli to the skillet and gently toss to coat them evenly with the creamy harissa sauce.
  7. Serve: Plate the ravioli and garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if using. Serve hot for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • For a protein boost, add sautéed shrimp or grilled chicken.
  • Use mild or spicy harissa depending on your heat preference.
  • You can substitute coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
