Description

This Simple Baked Boursin Salmon recipe offers an easy and elegant dinner option featuring tender salmon fillets topped with creamy, herb-infused Boursin cheese. With a quick prep time and straightforward baking method, it delivers flavorful, flaky fish finished with fresh lemon and parsley for a bright, satisfying meal perfect for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Topping

  • 4 salmon fillets (5-6 oz each)
  • 1 Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese (5.2 oz)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Seasoning & Garnish

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep Oven & Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup after baking.
  2. Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets very dry with paper towels to promote proper roasting. Season both sides evenly with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Spread the softened Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese generously over the top of each salmon fillet. Then zest 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon directly over the cheese-topped salmon.
  3. Arrange & Bake: Place the prepared salmon fillets on one side of the parchment-lined baking sheet carefully. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the salmon to enhance flavor and moisture. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 18 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork at the thickest part or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). The cheese will be melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  4. Finish & Serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and squeeze 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice generously over the cooked salmon to add brightness. Optionally, garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice. Let the salmon rest on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before transferring to individual plates. Serve immediately alongside lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Make sure the salmon fillets are patted very dry to get a nicely roasted texture.
  • Boursin cheese should be softened at room temperature for easy spreading.
  • If you prefer less salt, adjust seasoning accordingly since Boursin cheese is already flavorful.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure salmon reaches a safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Optional parsley garnish adds freshness but can be omitted.
  • Leftover salmon is delicious cold or reheated gently.
