Ingredients
Scale
Salmon and Topping
- 4 salmon fillets (5-6 oz each)
- 1 Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese (5.2 oz)
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Seasoning & Garnish
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prep Oven & Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup after baking.
- Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets very dry with paper towels to promote proper roasting. Season both sides evenly with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Spread the softened Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese generously over the top of each salmon fillet. Then zest 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon directly over the cheese-topped salmon.
- Arrange & Bake: Place the prepared salmon fillets on one side of the parchment-lined baking sheet carefully. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the salmon to enhance flavor and moisture. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 18 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork at the thickest part or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). The cheese will be melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
- Finish & Serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and squeeze 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice generously over the cooked salmon to add brightness. Optionally, garnish with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice. Let the salmon rest on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before transferring to individual plates. Serve immediately alongside lemon wedges.
Notes
- Make sure the salmon fillets are patted very dry to get a nicely roasted texture.
- Boursin cheese should be softened at room temperature for easy spreading.
- If you prefer less salt, adjust seasoning accordingly since Boursin cheese is already flavorful.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure salmon reaches a safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Optional parsley garnish adds freshness but can be omitted.
- Leftover salmon is delicious cold or reheated gently.
