Ingredients
Scale
Vegetables
- 1 (10 oz) package frozen spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Dairy & Condiments
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or cream cheese for a richer dip)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Seasonings & Others
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for sautéing fresh spinach)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet to prepare for baking the dip.
- Prepare Spinach: If using frozen spinach, thaw it thoroughly and squeeze out any excess water. For fresh spinach, sauté it in olive oil over medium heat until wilted, about 2-3 minutes, then drain and chop finely.
- Mix Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the prepared spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, sour cream, mayonnaise or cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes if using. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, then mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Assemble and Bake: Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish, smoothing the surface. Optionally, sprinkle extra mozzarella or Parmesan cheese on top for added cheesiness. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until hot, bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with tortilla chips, toasted bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables like carrots and celery for dipping.
Notes
- For a richer dip, substitute mayonnaise with cream cheese.
- Make sure to drain spinach well to prevent a watery dip.
- Red pepper flakes add a bit of heat but can be omitted for a milder flavor.
- This dip can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
- Use freshly grated cheeses for the best melting and flavor.
