Description

Thai Chicken Bites are flavorful, bite-sized pieces of chicken marinated in a zesty blend of soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, lime juice, garlic, ginger, and chili, then stir-fried to golden perfection. Garnished with fresh cilantro and chopped peanuts, they make a perfect appetizer or main dish with a vibrant Thai flair.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Marinade

  • 500 g boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 red chili, finely chopped (optional for spice)

Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Garnish & Serving

  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Chopped peanuts for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare Marinade: In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped red chili. Stir well to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Marinate Chicken: Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the marinade ensuring all pieces are thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse deeply.
  3. Heat Oil: Place a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Allow the oil to heat until shimmering and hot enough for stir-frying.
  4. Cook Chicken: Add the marinated chicken pieces in batches to avoid overcrowding. Stir-fry the chicken for approximately 5-7 minutes until the pieces are cooked through and nicely golden on the outside.
  5. Serve: Transfer the cooked chicken bites onto a serving plate.
  6. Garnish: Sprinkle fresh cilantro leaves and chopped peanuts over the chicken for added crunch and freshness.
  7. Enjoy: Serve the Thai Chicken Bites with lime wedges on the side to add a zesty finish when squeezed over the bites.

Notes

  • Marinating overnight enhances the depth of flavor even more.
  • If you prefer less spice, omit the red chili or reduce the quantity.
  • Use a non-stick skillet or wok to prevent sticking and aid in even cooking.
  • Adding chopped peanuts can provide a wonderful texture contrast.
  • Serve with steamed jasmine rice to create a complete meal.
