Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 2 naans
- 2 teaspoons olive oil (divided)
Sautéed Mushroom Topping
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 8 ounces white mushrooms, sliced thin
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 dashes Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Cheese and Garnish
- 1.5 cups grated Fontina cheese
- Truffle oil, to taste
- Chopped parsley, to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics and Mushrooms: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté for 5 minutes until softened. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their liquid and everything is tender.
- Prepare Broiler: While the mushrooms cook, preheat your oven’s broiler to high and position the oven rack in the upper third section to ensure even broiling.
- Assemble Naan Pizzas: Place the naans on a non-stick baking sheet. Drizzle each naan with 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Evenly spread the mushroom mixture on top of each naan, then generously cover with grated Fontina cheese.
- Broil the Pizzas: Place the baking sheet under the broiler and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the cheese has melted thoroughly and is bubbly and golden around the edges.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the naan pizzas from the oven. Drizzle each with truffle oil to taste and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use fresh mushrooms for the best flavor and texture.
- If you don’t have Fontina cheese, mozzarella or provolone can be good substitutes.
- Adjust the amount of truffle oil according to your preference; a little goes a long way.
- Broiling times may vary depending on your oven, so watch carefully to prevent burning.
- You can double the recipe easily to serve more people.
