Instructions

- Cream butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, dark brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips or chunks.
- Bake: Drop dough onto baking sheets, sprinkle with sea salt if desired, and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
- Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
